WEEK THREE : Product Managers and Developers Collaborate to Create a Music Application

This week's task involved working with the dev team to create a music app and as product managers, we had to oversee the product development. We had a design and a name already but we had to bring it to life. Our music app had the name "MUZIRA".

We made use of Agile methodology which includes daily standups, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.

DAILY STANDUPS

Our daily standups were held by 8:30 PM, considering that teammates had other affairs to run. We took notes of what both frontend and backend teams were working on and their blockers.

SPRINT PLANNING

During sprint planning, we discussed sprint goals and explained how the features worked. We discussed user stories and the acceptance criteria for each feature. The JIRA board was also used to monitor our team's progress and we had the planning done on the board.

SPRINT REVIEW

As a team, we went through a sprint review of what we planned for the first sprint.

Was there a task removed from the sprint? No task was removed from the board.

Did we finish all tasks for this sprint? All tasks were not completed by the devs.

What was the reason a task was not accomplished? All resources were not available at the time of documentation.

SPRINT RETROSPECTIVE

What did we do well during this sprint?

Our music app could run the basic feature which is to play music.

Users are able to sign up/sign in to the app

The frontend team was readily available to carry out their tasks in the short time they had

How do we improve in our next sprint?

Endeavor to join daily standups

Carry out tasks assigned to each of us on time

Communicate with your team members.

There were lessons and challenges we got as a team. It was a whole experience for us considering that it was our first time overseeing a product development.

CHALLENGES

  1. Honestly, getting the backend team to respond to messages and calls was a hassle

  2. Handling a team of thirty-nine people right without passing wrong the information was also a challenge
